Halloween
Hard to believe we’ve already welcomed October! We will be celebrating Halloween with an outdoor parade and small classroom parties on Friday, October 31st. In an effort to help families plan for the Halloween fun, please read through the information outlined below.
Costumes:
- All costumes must be school appropriate. The expectations for everyday dress are applied to costumes.
- No look-a-like weapons of any kind are allowed as part of a costume.
- No gore, blood, or “scary” costumes.
- Costumes can be brought to school in a bag on October 31st–students should not wear their costumes to school.
- Students will dress in their classrooms prior to our Halloween festivities. Due to limited time, we will not be allowing students to use the washrooms to change, therefore, costumes must be ones which can be put on over a student’s regular clothes.
- Please also save makeup for after school Halloween activities.
- If your family is facing hardship and you need assistance with Halloween costumes, please reach out to our school social worker, Mrs. Gasca at [email protected]
Parties:
- Halloween room parties will begin immediately following the parade and will end by 2:30 PM
- If you are volunteering in a classroom, please report to the office to sign in prior to going to the classroom to set up.
- Please know that there is no requirement to send in treat bags for your child’s class. However, if you are choosing to send something in for your child to pass out, please remember that food items are not allowed. Any food items sent to school will be returned with your child. Thank you for helping to ensure our students’ safety.
- K-3 Classroom Teachers sent home information regarding parent volunteers for classroom parties.
- 4-6 Classroom Teachers will be organizing Halloween celebrations for their students.
- To ensure safety, only parents pre-arranged to volunteer will be permitted to enter the school.
Parade:
- Our Halloween parade will begin at 1:15 PM.
- All classrooms will parade along the walking path near the playground and enter back through the main door.
- You are welcome to stand along the perimeter of the path or in the field to view the parade, but please keep the path clear for students.
- All parade spectators are asked to remain outside for the duration of the parade.
- In the event of inclement weather, we will hold an indoor parade for students and staff only–we will not be hosting viewing indoors for inclement weather.
- The parking lot will be closed for the duration of our parade.
