PTA Open Committees for 2019-2020
Interested in getting more involved in PTA next year?
Well you are in luck, because we have several committees open for the 2019-2020 school year! Please see the basic information on these committees below. If you are interested, please contact Eileen Morris at email@example.com.
Dine and Donate
If you’re interested in a committee that doesn’t involve a huge time commitment, the Dine & Donate committee would be great for you! Most of the work can be done from home. Dine & Donate events are spread throughout the school year.
Responsibilities include contacting various restaurants and setting up Dine & Donate events. Events should be coordinated accordingly with the school calendar. Also, advertise the event using different resources distributing flyers, PTA newsletter, and social media. After the event makes sure the PTA receives the proper payment. If you’re looking for an easy way to help your PTA, this committee would be great for you!
This committee sells gift cards through Great Lakes Scrip and receives a portion of the sales back to PTA. This is generally done once yearly before the holiday break. Duties include copying and distributing order forms, collating and placing the orders, and distributing the cards once they have been received.
Schaumburg Township Council of PTA’s Auction
The Schaumburg Township Council of PTA’s has a dinner and silent/live auction event each Spring to raise money for the scholarship fund. Each PTA in the council is responsible for donating at least five baskets. Duties of the Enders-Salk auction chair are soliciting donations and putting them together into baskets. Most of the work for this committee occurs in January and February and all of it can be done from home.
Reflections Coordinate National PTA Reflections Art Competition at Enders- Salk
This is a fall event that requires distributing informational materials (usually starting at Back to School Night), hosting a parent information meeting in September and a Finishing Workshop in October. Projects must be photographed, logged and submitted to the STC, which generally takes an additional hour. Training is offered at fall PTA training nights and there is an abundance of information on the Illinois PTA and National PTA websites.
